Load 15 to 20 pounds on a leg extension machine and sit on the seat with hips and knees bent 90 degrees. Position leg pad above ankles and rest hands on supports. Straighten legs (don't lock knees).

Lower left leg, then slowly bend right knee, lowering pad; repeat. Do 8 to 10 reps, then switch sides to complete set.
