Stand with right foot on top of a bench or step and left foot on the floor beside it, hands on hips.

Push off right foot and hop to the
right, landing with left foot on top of
bench and right foot on the floor.
Hop back to the other side. Continue

All of these except for the leg extension, which can injure you and should not be done by people who already have knee problems, look like good exercises.
Walking is the best exercise and overall toner for me. My stomach is tighter, my legs and butt are more toned and I simply feel better. I live in New York City and instead of taking the subway 30 blocks, I walk. I read another post on Prevention about exercise insoles that fit into sneakers and shoes that help increase circulation and burn calories. It's similar to the heel that's in some of the expensive exercise shoes. I wear them everywhere I go. They're really comfortable, and I felt the difference in my legs and butt almost immediately.
