What it stands for: heart rate monitor

A heart rate monitor (HRM) is one of the most common and informative devices a fit girl can have. The monitor, which measures how fast your heart is beating, often straps around your chest and sends a signal to a watch (or sometimes a sensor on your treadmill or spin bike) which then shows you the number.
