SHAPE Cooking School: Basic Skills You Need to Know
Everyone should have the knowledge and skills to feed themselves a decent meal. That's why we teamed up with Shea Hess, star of the ingredient-based food show Hungry in Brooklyn, to show you how to master the basic cooking skills and techniques that will give you confidence in the kitchen.

Shea Hess is an actress, television host, and one of YouTube's top chefs living and working in New York City. Exhilarated by the emergent food scene in Brooklyn, Hess started a successful supper-club which she documents on her blog. As interest in her recipes grew, she and partner Raphael Rodriguez decided to combine Shea’s on-screen experience with her talent in the kitchen by creating the ingredient-based food show, Hungry in Brooklyn. On the show, Shea explores the world of local, sustainable, and organic food one ingredient at a time. She visits farmers, fisherman, and foragers, then works alongside NYC's top chefs as she dives deep into each ingredient, from skate to pork shoulder; beets to broccoli rabe. Her recipes and videos can be viewed at hungryinbrooklyn.com.
