If you can't grab a Lifehouse Tonic to whip these up, don't worry: You can sub in your favorite powdered superfood ingredient, such as hemp seeds, wheatgrass, maca, or ginseng. You'll still get your dessert with a healthy boost.

Lifehouse Chocolate Tonic Truffles Recipe

Makes: about 40 truffles

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dates
  • 2/3 cup goji berries
  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup cacao powder (plus more for rolling truffles in)
  • 1/2 cup Lifehouse Infusion Blend or superfood ingredient
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place dates in a bowl. Cover with hot water and let sit for 5 minutes. Repeat with the goji berries.
  2. Put walnuts and almonds in a food processor. Blend until fine.
  3. Add dates to the food processor. Continue to blend until dates have made a paste with the nuts.
  4. Add this mixture to a bowl with the remainder of ingredients.
  5. Use hands to mix together until a dough starts to form. When the cacao powder has been evenly dispersed, the mixture should hold.
  6. Cover the surface of a plate with about a cup of cacao powder. Portion truffles into balls and roll in cacao powder until they are shaped and fully covered.
  7. Let set in the refrigerator for 2 hours then serve with your favorite garnish. (Options include shredded coconut, goji berries, hemp seeds, etc.)
