Give corn recipes a kick with flavorful mustard seeds and turmeric. You'll never want to butter your corn again!


  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black or brown mustard seeds (not yellow)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen corn kernels, defrosted if frozen
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt



In a skillet, heat the oil over high heat until smoking. Add the mustard seeds and cover immediately. Cook until the seeds stop popping, about 15 seconds. Lower the heat, add the corn, turmeric, and salt. Cook until the corn is hot throughout.
