Besides the soothing effects of a warm cup of tea, both peppermint and
chamomile has been noted for their stomach-specific healing properties. A
recent study indicates that
peppermint activates an antipain channel in the colon. In addition to easing symptoms associated with IBS, peppermint has also been shown to help with nausea. Small studies have also shown
chamomile to
relieve an upset stomach and abdominal pain.
