1. It's all about endurance. Teams on The Amazing Race are always on the go. And often times the difference between winning or not (or catching that ferry that's leaving to your next destination) has to do with how much you can push yourself — and how far and how fast you can run with a backpack on.
2. You gotta be strong. While many of the challenges are not physical, quite a few of them are. From having to pull something up and out of the water to having to paddle a boat to a certain Amazing Race destination, full-body strength is a must if you want to really compete on the show.
3. Be flexible. Having both physical and mental flexibility is key on The Amazing Race. While some challenges do require some bending and maneuvering of the body, many of the challenges just require the contestants to think on their feet, adapt quickly to change and — in a nutshell — be flexible to whatever is going on in the moment.
