Need a quick way to brighten up your eyes after not sleeping well or a beauty shortcut to give your hair volume without washing and styling? SHAPE magazine Beauty Director Ellen Miller appeared on PIX11 Morning News to talk about how to freshen up your nails, skin, face, hair and teeth when you’re in a rush. Here are some of her top tips:
Nails: To dry your nails in a jiffy, dunk them into ice water or use cool air from your hair dryer. Miller also recommends using Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips ($10), which last up to 10 days and require no dry time.
Eyes: Depuff your eyes with a bag of frozen peas. The little veggies will conform to the contours of your face to nix inflammation. You can also look like you’ve slept all eight hours by applying highlighting cream to the inner corners of your eyes, on top of your brow bone and along the tops of your cheek bones.
Teeth: If you don’t have a toothbrush, whiten that smile in a flash by biting into an apple. The flesh of the fruit is a mild abrasive that gets rid of plaque. After drinking red wine, brighten up wine stained teeth with Wine Wipes ($7).
Hair: Don’t have time to wash your hair in the morning? Sleep with your hair in a high pony to give it volume and then mist roots with dry shampoo.
