Did you know that today is the official International No Diet Day? Created by Mary Evans Young of DietBreakers in England, it's celebrated on May 6 across the world with the purpose of bringing awareness of the pressures to be thin, often through food and weight obsession and even eating disorders and weight-loss surgery.We thought we'd celebrate the day by listing the three most ridiculous diets we've heard of.
3 Crazy Diets
1. Cabbage Soup Diet. A diet where you pretty much only eat cabbage soup? While that might be okay on St. Patrick's Day, talk about a boring drag! Too low in calories and without that much nutrition or protein, this diet is just ridiculous.
2. Master Cleanse. Sure, cayenne pepper can help rev your metabolism and suppress your appetite, but that doesn't mean it should stop you from eating foods altogether. This concoction of lemon juice, maple syrup and pepper can result in big weight-loss, but just know that it mostly comes from water and the loss of muscle tissue. So. Not. Cool.
3. The Twinkie Diet. Don't even get us started on this on. Twinkies? Really. While this diet is proof that cutting calories gets results, it's certainly not healthy. A diet that's rich in fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean proteins is far superior.
