The Expert Opinion: “During the summer, women want a quick change without having to do much. Short ‘dos are easy to style, manage, and are very versatile,” says Anthony Pazos, who has styled everyone from Ashley Greene and the Kardashians to Leighton Meester and One Direction, and is also the star of WETV’s hit docu-series L.A. Hair (Thursdays at 9/8c). “Whether you’re rocking a short bob, pixie cut, or an edgy faux hawk, this look will give you a polished, sleek, and chic feel!”

Get the Look: Use a spray wax such as the Wax Blast 10 High Impact Finishing Spray Wax by Redken and a boar bristle brush. Generously apply the wax spray throughout your head, focusing on the top half. Part your hair whichever way you’d like, and gently brush each side back behind each ear.

The Expert Opinion: “Not only is this a staple on the red carpet, but natural waves are the easiest, most glamorous look to achieve at home,” says Pazos.

Get the Look: Take 1-inch sections of your hair and curl away from your face, holding the wand in a downward position. Wait until the hair is cool and brush out for the soft, natural wave. Once your whole head is curled and brushed, spray with a shine spray, such as Redken’s Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray.

Braids

The Expert Opinion: “In the hot summer season, braids are a great way to give you that little extra oomph. They ‘accessorize’ without using anything more than your hair,” says Pazos.

Get the Look: Pull back hair into a medium height pony, brushing back as you go until all flyaways are smoothed. Take a 1-inch section from the tail and wrap around the elastic, securing with a bobby pin. Next, working with the tail, add Garnier Fructis Beach Spray to achieve a tousled, volumized texture. Tease tail for additional volume and texture. Braid tail loosely, pulling apart gently as you go and secure end with a clear elastic.

The Expert Opinion: “The undone look is everything right now. It looks simple, chic, effortless, and most importantly, fabulous!” says Pazos.

Get the Look: Start with semi-curled unwashed hair (the curls shouldn’t be perfect). Spray with a finishing spray and tease at the root. Let your face-framing layers fall to the front and pull back the rest of the hair, either securing it messily with a pin, section by section, or with an elastic.

Ombré

The Expert Opinion: “This hot trend happened as an accident, after seeing how much money can be saved, and how fabulous you can look with less effort. It immediately was (and still is) sought after amongst numerous A-listers,” says Pazos. “It’s a beautiful hair color that isn’t hard to maintain and great for the summer. Color services, however, should be done by a professional hairstylist and/or color expert.”

Get the Look: Go for shades that will compliment your skin tone and wardrobe choices. Be sure to pick appropriate inspiration photos to show your stylist and explain exactly what you like about the photo. In the warmer months, shoot for lighter, more vibrant shades and in the winter months, choose cooler, more ash tones.

The Expert Opinion: “Punky, smoked hues are really popular right now,” says Pazos. “The lavender on Nicole Richie and Kelly Osbourne are my favorites because it suits their pale skin perfectly.”

Get the Look: Pazos recommends either Manic Panic or Pravana Vivid Color Collection. “Flashier colors such as turquoise and magenta look best when the roots are grown out a bit. It’s definitely more eye-catching and gives an updated approach to Ombre,” he says.

Natural Curls

The Expert Opinion: “Women are embracing their natural texture. Because of the sun’s heat and humidity, it’s forcing them to store away the flatirons,” says Pazos.

Get the Look: Pazos recommends Redken’s Curvaceous Wind Up Leave-In Hairspray. Spray from root to ends while scrunching hair. Use Kim Kimble’s Bounce Back Curling Revitalizer to keep the ends smooth. “I recommend using a curling crème as opposed to a gel, because gels tend to dry the curl from the alcohol ingredients,” he says.

The Expert Opinion: “The LOB is a perfect way to update your look without having to make the full commitment. It’s a more fashionable approach to everyday living, and much more manageable and easier to style at home,” says Pazos.

Get the Look: Blow dry using a smoothing solution such as Redken’s Align 12 Protective Smoothing Lotion and voila, you’re good to go!

The Expert Opinion: “Less is more! With hair pulled back in such a chic way, it shows the beautiful structures of the face. You’re beautiful, so let’s show the world!” says Pazos.

Get the Look: Flip your head over to gather unwashed hair in to a high ponytail. Using a swirling technique, twist hair and pull through a hair bun donut hole and pin.
