Celeb hairstylist Sarah Potempa shares exactly how she styled Kendall Jenner's runway hair backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Want to know exactly how to achieve those sexy-without-trying-too-hard Victoria's Secret model waves? Of course you do. While we previously broke down how to get the look, courtesy of Sarah Potempa, founder of the Beachwaver Co. and celeb hairstylist for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, we now bring you an updated and even more effortless-seeming iteration: The Kendall Jenner wave.
Yes, it involves a curler, a straightener, and a special wrist technique (we said effortless seeming!) but it takes just a few minutes (depending how much hair you have) and the result is a perfectly messy wave that's runway-worthy, yet it also has a cool-girl, off-duty model vibe. Basically, you'll look like you just rolled out of bed—only better.
Styled the stunning @kendalljenner for the #vsfashionshow in #Paris To get this look, I curled the back and sides with @thebeachwaver S1 and sprayed @theouai texture spray. Then I used the Coast Pro and @theouai cream to smooth the front sections #kendalljenner #igotbeachwaved #vsfs2016 #vsafterparty #vsfsparis16 #thebeachwaver #kendall @victoriassecret
Here, Potempa breaks down how she achieved the runway look:
1. Divide the hair into three even sections with Darby Clips.
2. Curl from the bottom up using the Beachwaver S1.
3. When you get to the top few layers of hair, create S-shaped waves with the Coast Pro Ceramic Styling Iron. To create the S-pattern: Clamp toward the root and turn your wrist up and then down while moving toward the ends. Repeat all the way down the section of hair.
4. Use a dime-size amount of Ouai Finishing Creme and emulsify it in your hands. Then run it throughout the hair to tame any flyaways. Spray the Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray throughout the roots and fluff with your fingers.
Pro hack: Tame any flyaways around the face by spraying with hairspray then running the can over the spray to lock them down.
