Blake Lively: Tousled Glam

How to Get the Look: Before blow drying your hair apply a volumizing mousse like Shu Uemura Ample Angora Volumizing Mousse from your roots to mid shaft. Blow dry it with body by pulling up and out, directing the roots to one side for a deep side part. Be sure to add a serum, like the Shu Uemura Silk, to the ends of your hair to reduce dryness. Then, place a few hot rollers on the side where your hair is parted. Let your hair cool, add a little texture with a product like Shu Uemura Yokan Craft, and use your fingers to rake out your hair for that sexy tousled look.

How to Get the Look: Begin with clean smooth hair. Before blow drying apply Matrix Blowout Crème for control and smoothness. Smooth hair straight back and place into high ponytail.

Divide the ponytail into two sections and make two different braids. The first braid should be loose and pillowy (so it appears larger) to place in the center of the chignon. Weave the second braid a little bit tighter and wrap completely around the first. Secure the look with Extra-Hold Shaping Spray. Begin applying a small amount of hairspray and add more as needed.

How to Get the Look: Start by applying Sally Hershberger Shagg Style Primer to prep the hair, and then work in SALON By Sally Hershberger Shape Up at the roots (on wet hair) to build body and lift. Next, blow dry hair with a medium round brush, pulling the hair back away from the head.

Divide hair into 1-inch sections and tease each piece from the root through the middle section. Apply Major Body Volumizing Style Boost to instantly lift hair for a fuller style. Next, put in medium sized velcro rollers all going back. Let the rollers set for 20 to 30 minutes. Take the rollers out, brush through hair, and finish the look by spraying Major Body Volumizing Style Boost all over. This will increase volume and hold the style all night.

How to Get the Look: Start with a blow out to get your hair very smooth at the root with as much volume as possible. Once the hair is dry and polished, take the Amika curling wand and proceed to wrap your hair around the wand, starting about two inches from your root. Make sure you wrap all the curls the same way and away from your face. This will help ensure you get more of a wave. After you hair is curled, comb your fingers through it with a small amount of the Amika Moisture Crème. This will get rid of any flyaways, separate some of the waves, and give your hair definition with out looking too shiny or greasy.

How to Get the Look: Start by applying Amika Obliphica Oil to very wet hair from roots to the ends. Blow dry the hair to stretch the curl out and remove as much frizz as possible. When it's completely dry, use the Amika Pro Styler. Roll the Pro Styler about 180 degrees at the root as you are pulling up and away from the scalp. This will create volume and bend in the hair, allowing you to see a slight wave. Section the top of your hair out of the way. Proceed to the sides of your hair and pull them back very tight and smooth, pin and secure them into a french twist, a bun, or a ponytail in the back.

For the top section, focus on getting the height first. Once you have the height locked in, take the last section of hair in the very front and place it to look just right. If you rotated the Pro Styler 180 degrees when flat ironing your hair, the wave on the top will naturally form. Pin the top loosely into your ponytail. Add a fall or extensions to your pony tail if so desired.

How to Get the Look: Second day hair is best to execute this style. Flip hair upside down and spray a root lift product such as Redken Rootful 06 at the roots. Hit roots with hot blow dryer to set the product. Flip hair back and spray a veil of aerosol hair spray over the top layer of your hair. Bumble and bumble Does it All is a great aerosol that won't dry out your tresses.

Leaving out a bit of hair in the front to frame your face and give a softer look, tease the top section of your hair (behind the front piece you just pulled out) back to the crown of your hair by taking small 1-inch square sections and gently teasing at the root area. Roughly smooth hair back slightly off to one side (so it does not look too perfect), and secure the gathered hair with a clear hair band. Smooth the ponytail hair out by brushing it once secured. Take a small piece of hair from the ponytail, wrap it around the band, and secure with a short hair pin.

To get Nicole's hair color use Kelly Van Gogh Master Blend in the 4RO Light Red Orange Brown shade, mixed with the 6G Dark Golden Blonde shade—for the hottest red around.

How to Get the Look: Wash your hair and allow it to air dry a little bit. Section your hair into several sections—a mohawk section starting at the forehead, the sides, the crown, and two square sections down towards the nape. Think of it like drawing lines in your head (you want very clean sections). Use a medium sized Bio Ionic heat resistant brush to roll 1-inch sections away and back from your face. Don't worry if there's some frizz; the next step will fix that. Re-section your hair (like you did before) and go thru entire hair with a 11/2-inch curling iron. Hold the iron and your sections vertically. Horizontal sections will not give you the desired "Carrie curls."

How to Get the Look: Apply approximately two pumps of thickening cream like Oscar Blandi Hair Lift to hair (if hair is shorter, use less). Blow dry hair using a flat brush, focusing on lifting the roots with the brush for extra body. Once hair is fully dry apply a glossing cream to eliminate any outstanding frizz and to achieve shine. To finish the look, spray with a flexible hairspray. This will keep hair in place without weighing it down or making it sticky.

How to Get the Look: Apply a volumizing mousse and blow dry hair with body at the crown. Create soft curls with a 1-inch curling iron. Finger rake the curls out with a styling product for hold and separation. Sweep the hair back towards the lower back of the head and loosely twist hair into a ballerina bun. Secure with hairpins by criss-crossing and weaving them into the bun for a soft romantic feel. Finish with a medium hold hair spray and pull out the desired amount of side bang to complete the look.

How to Get the Look: Prep the hair with Sally Hershberger Shagg Style Primer and Plump Up on wet hair and slowly blow dry. Repeat this step at least two times to give the hair texture and hold to achieve the shape (the hair will collapse without products). After hair is completely dry, pull it back into a low side ponytail. Use hair pins to build the chignon. Finally, lock in the look with hair spray.

How to Get the Look: Apply a pea-sized amount of Kengo Feather by Shu Uemura to damp roots and comb through to create lift and texture, giving your hair that separated look. Blow dry with a round brush. Next, set the hair with a 1-inch barrel curling iron to give the hair wave and more mobility while styling. Twist the sections back on each side to create more shape around the head, leaving some natural volume at the top. Pin it back with hair colored bobby pins either twisting into a bun or chignon. Once hair is up, pull a few sections out around your face for a more relaxed look. Lastly, use finishing spray for a very soft natural style.

How to Get the Look: Establish a side part and blow the hair dry with a large round brush. Loosely pull all of your hair to one side. The key is to not pull the hair taunt—you want to leave soft movement. Once all hair is pulled back low and to one side, begin to braid the hair with the traditional French braid. Use a clear band to hold the braid in place.

How to Get the Look: Start with a smooth blow dry using a round brush and the polishing milk by Shu Uemura. Once hair is dry, add Bumble and bumble Texture from roots to ends. Allow the product to absorb and gently dry the hair with a boar bristle brush. Gather into a loose bun (not too tight) to achieve a natural lift and so texture remains in the hair. How to Get the Look: Begin by using a volumizing spray on partially air-dried hair to create texture. Then tousle hair with your fingers while using your blow dryer to completely remove all of the moisture and to further encourage natural texture. Once dry, loosely gather hair into a low chignon, keeping the top half of hair looser than the sides and secure with a few bobby pins to keep in place. To add more volume to your chignon, at this point, wrap in the Hairdo Style-A-Do.

How to Get the Look: Start by using a volumizing spray all over air- or blow-dried hair. Using a 2" curling iron, create pin curls (curling towards and away from the face) and secure with a bobby pin while completing the next step. Clip in the Hairdo 20-Inch Styleable Clip-In Extensions at the crown of head. The extensions have a wave pattern and will add all-over volume to the look. Remove the bobby pins that are holding the pin curls in place and brush out hair. Finish off the look by taking a small section of hair from around the frame of the face and pinning back and off to the side with a bobby pin.
