How Model Noel Berry Still Fits In Fitness During New York Fashion Week

 

Noel Berry first caught our eye when she was featured in the campaign for Bandier's art-inspired activewear collection. After following the gorgeous Ford model on Instagram, we discovered she's not just a fit model; she's also a runner capable of looking stunning in a selfie after six miles and she shares our appreciation for a beautiful acai bowl. But we wanted to know more about the up-and-coming model who looks just as good in workout clothes as she does in high-fashion looks on the runway. (She killed it walking in this week's Rachel Zoe show.) So in the midst of New York Fashion Week, we took a peek inside her day-to-day life with some speed round questions on everything from which workout studios she loves to what she snacks on to what's always in her gym bag. The very first thing she does after waking up: "It's probably similar to what a lot of people do...check my phone!"

Everything she eats in a typical day, breakfast through dessert: "I start the day with eggs, and then either spinach or avocado and some green tea. For lunch, I like to have a nice salad with lots of veggies or some kind of wrap. For a snack, I'll have a Kind bar or some hummus, which I love! For dinner, I like to have a protein like fish, chicken, or steak, and then some kind of vegetable and some kind of potato–I love potatoes in all form! For dessert, I'll have frozen yogurt—it's something you can indulge in and not feel too bad about.

The unhealthy indulgence she can't live without: "French fries and candy! I love them both so much."

Her typical weekly workout schedule: "I try to workout five to seven days, even if it's just some yoga or a 30-minute run. I feel so much better and feel like I make more health conscious decisions throughout the day if I've started the day with a workout. My favorite studios are SLT (it's life-changing), Barry's Bootcamp, and Exhale."

Her go-to quickie workout move: "When I don't have a lot of time or I'm traveling, I do a 15-minute, full-body Pilates video off YouTube on my phone! You don't even have to go to the gym to do it—I'll do it at home in my living room. I also find it really calming to do at the end of a long day." Her secret to a great selfie: "It's all about the lighting and knowing your angles!"

How she prepares for Fashion Week: "Leading up to anything important work-related, where I know my figure has to be in impeccable shape, I cut out sugar and carbs. I'll eat super clean, nothing but lean proteins, fruit, and veggies. In terms of working out, I'll increase my cardio—instead of my typical 30- to 45-minute run, I'll go for an hour to an hour and a half."

How she keeps her energy up during NYFW: "I think it's really important to stay hydrated and make sure you're eating healthy and often. And, of course, you need to get a good night's rest the night before."

Her favorite inspirational quotes: "'The best project you'll ever work on is you,' and 'You don't get the ass you want by sitting on it'!" (Check out more motivational fitness mantras to motivate your workout!)

Her thoughts on athleisure: "I absolutely love the whole athleisure movement! It's cute and comfy, and I think if you are wearing activewear in your daily life, you're more inspired to go to a workout even if it wasn't your original plan."

What's always in her gym bag: "I don't like to wear makeup while I work out. so I always have a cleanser—I use Dr. Murad clarifying cleanser; it's amazing for my skin! I also always have Dr. Jart ceramidin cream—in my opinion, it's the greatest moisturizer ever. And I always have my Beats headphones and a Kind bar—my favorite pre-gym flavor is the fruit and nut cluster, but I'm also a fan of the peanut butter dark chocolate. And for post-workout, I always have my Fresh sugar lip treatment; it makes your lips so smooth and healthy—it's the one beauty product I can't live without!"

How she un-winds at the end of the day: "A nice long shower and some good music!"
