5 Moves to Orgasm Tonight

Climaxes are like pizza—even when they’re bad, they’re still pretty darn great. But why settle for so-so sex? We asked sexperts for their best tips on how to double your pleasure.

Choose the Right Lube

Avoid personal moisturizers labeled warming, cooling, or tingling, says Madeleine Castellanos, M.D., an NYC-based sex therapist. “These contain chemicals that dull certain nerve endings. You’ll get the promised sensation, but since less data is being sent from the nerves to the brain, your big finish won’t be as intense.”

Stay Focused

“In bed, women get distracted more often than men, so it’s easier for our orgasms to get derailed,” says Castellanos. She suggests directing all your attention to the one spot on your body that feels best as you fool around. “This keeps you engaged, and the more into sex you are, the deeper your pleasure will be.”

Borrow a Tantric-Sex Technique

Edging requires you (or a partner) to bring yourself close to climax—then stop. Repeat as many times as you can. “Once you let yourself orgasm, the built-up tension makes your release much, much stronger,” says Lauren Streicher, M.D., associate clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University.

Strengthen Your Pelvic Floor

Two musts for a powerful orgasm: a strong, healthy pelvic floor and getting the right stimulation, says Castellanos. For that, kegel exercises come in handy. Enter Intensity, a vibrator/kegel exerciser that hits your G-spot and clitoris and uses gentle electrostimulation to contract your vaginal muscles. Over time, this tones your pelvic floor to make all your O’s more earth-shattering.

Use a Little Foreplay

Before you hit the sack, consider some foreplay action to get your senses heighten up says board-certified sexologist Shanna Katz. "Whether it is a gentle massage with lightly scented massage oil or a flirty spanking on the butt, playing with your senses can turn some people on more than an hour of oral sex. Consider adding a blindfold, feathers, satin, fur, candles, and more to your sexy drawer for a variety of fun ways to lavish in sensation play before really ramping up to bedroom romping."
