It's been a another great week with so much to be thankful for. Last week , I started keeping track of my daily moments of gratefulness, and I wanted to continue this exercise through the Thanksgiving Holiday. I also wanted to get you guys involved so we could all benefit from the special things in each of our lives that make life worth living. Below are my notes of gratitude from this week and beyond that are several of the comments that you shared on Facebook about what you have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season.
Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Friday 11/18: I'm thankful for having friends in my life who give me their honest feedback no matter how hard it may be to relay. My mom always says a good friend isn't someone who always tells you what you want to hear. Thanks E.
Saturday 11/19: I'm grateful for the past 365 days that result in another good friend's birthday party. Happy Birthday Leeann!
Sunday 11/20: Fifty degree weather at the end of November that makes for a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the city. And for football, too.
Monday 11/21: I'm grateful for airplanes and the pilots who fly them. Because of them, I get to see my family across the country.
Tuesday 11/22: I'm thankful for Arizona weather in an otherwise chilly time of year for a lot of us.
Wednesday 11/23: I'm grateful to be able to visit new places. Today we took a day trip up to beautiful Sedona and took a Jeep tour in the red rock hills.
Thursday 11/24: I'm grateful to be with my family on this special holiday. I'm also thankful that I maintain a healthy lifestyle most of the year so that I can chow down today!
Friday 11/25: I'm thankful to be able to sleep in and watch movies all day long with my twin sister!
Now, here's what Facebook readers had to say:
Cathy Woodruff : You've got me thinking of all the things for which I am thankful. The first thing that comes to mind is spending this Thanksgiving with my two daughters. I can hardly wait to see you and Rachel! :)
Kelli Sargent: For all the people that helped us raise nearly $750,000 at the 7th annual run for her for ovarian cancer last weekend...and the awesome flash mob that performed too! See it here at www.runforher.com .
Marion Grassini: " I’m grateful for travel opportunities which allow me to meet wonderful new friends. I’m grateful for a husband whose put up with me for so long, who works so hard for us. I’m grateful for three sons who always try their best. I’m grateful for a healthy, lovely little granddaughter and for a mother who adores her. I’m grateful for the water that comes out of my shower head, for a refrigerator to keep my food in, for a spacious home and lush garden, for the nature reserve across the street, for the zebras who stare at me insolently whilst chewing their food right in front of my gate. I’m grateful for my health and for a body which can assume the weirdest positions in yoga, a new endeavor for me. I’m grateful I didn’t actually break my neck when I fell off my horse. Thank you for reminding me to think of all my blessings, and for doing so early in the morning."
Rene Ocelot: "I am grateful that I do not have children."
Todd Richards : "I love that you showed everyone how recording what you're thankful for doesn't have to be a long, painful process. Everyone can do this, and simply should. In fact, if you can't make time to jot down one simple sentence on what makes you grateful, you probably need to be seeking help elsewhere. Jack (my son) says he is grateful for...ghosts. I didn't see that one coming!"
Lesley Newport: "I'm grateful for an interesting challenging job with the Environment Agency UK but also to brought back to what's really important by my two boys when I get bit wound up by work issues. If you think about what's really important you'll find you've got it already!"
Alicia Johnson Noyes: "I'm grateful to my daughter's college, which took a chance and admitted her even though her grades and test scores weren't stellar, but her community involvement and social volunteering were awesome. She'll graduate in May (in four years) with a double major of business and communications. They saw the star in her and believed in her."
