- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment.
- In a medium saucepan, stir together sugar and water. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture starts to melt and turn brown, about 10 minutes. Gently swirl pan until the mixture is an even, deep amber color, about 1 minute more.
- Remove from heat and stir in nuts and salt. Immediately pour mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it into an even layer and let cool. Break into small pieces and serve.
