I've been going on a lot of pitch meetings lately, which are like job interviews where you try to sell your script to producers. In the past I always wore the same thing: whatever pair of jeans were the least tight and a top that didn't cling too much. But now that I've lost weight, there are so many more options to choose from. So even though the Hollywood dress code for writers is notoriously casual, I've been spending a little more time getting ready for these meetings—pairing cute tops with dressy jeans or a casual skirt. Knowing that whatever outfit I choose will look and fit great has really made a difference in the way I feel when I walk into the room. Sure, the most important part of the package is the script itself, but presenting myself in the best possible light too has made my confidence skyrocket.
