I'm at the end of my rope (so to speak). I have been dieting Ever since I was 16 years old; and I still have not been able to maintain my weight without incorporating drastic measures (i.e., fad diets) But now... I continue to gain weight without increasing food or decreasing exercise. I was at the doctor recently, and learned that I was pre-diabetic (YIKES). Now I'm afraid, which is a great motivator to take this extra weight off...no matter what. That's why I trust my weight loss efforts at this time to a magazine that I've subscribed to, for over decade.
I am not sure where to turn now - after several years trying to lose weight I am frustrated to no end. I was doing so well about 2 years ago and lost 20 pounds and now here I am with 25 put back on. The constant yo-yo effect is crazy - I like to eat and I do exercise but for me to lose alot of weight I need to eat very little and exercise alot and that is just not fit for my lifestyle. How can I get the results I want with the time constraints that are on me? I need help and direction!
I can related to both of you. I too did the fad diest and yo yo diets, I also lost and gained twenty pounds in the last year. I even tried medication that only lasted for a short time. I will not give up though it isn't impossible, it just takes hard work.

I have spent my life in a physical state of mind. I survived a life-flight accident almost 6 years ago basically becuase I was very fit. I have lost the level of fitness with time and healing from injuries. I keep the right mind set and try so hard to work with my limitations. I know there is the very strong person still in here but I continue to struggle for a stronger me. What holds me back? I need a life make-over...help! I am now almost as heavy as I was when I had my daughter...my muscle tone is fading...where is the "strong girl" now?

I grew up playing sports and became a P.E. teacher. After marriage I had two children with serious illnesses and after 6 miscarriages, a third child. Time for me to work out despite the stresses was always a priority and challenge. But grief, loss and stress has taken their toll. Now I need a plan for me; how to find the right plan and help?
