Hamilton won nearly everything at the Tony Awards this past Sunday—after breaking the record for most nominations ever with an outrageous 16—proving that the obsession is really real. So real, in fact, that SoulCycle (a cultural juggernaut in its own right) caught on to the fervor and began offering hip-hop-themed Hamilton rides.
Last year, the cycling studio began offering "Hamilton: A Hip-Hop Theme Ride." As imagined, classes sold out instantly—and now, to cater to the show's growing fan base, classes are being featured in over 62 SoulCycle studios across the country. Rumor has it that some instructors like to go all out and show up to class decked out in Hamilton garb. How awesome is that?
"Our riders cannot get enough of our SoulCycle Hamilton-themed classes," Gabby Etrog Cohen, senior vice president of the brand's PR and brand strategy told Well + Good. "There is nothing more magical than riding to the beat of the music as a pack to Lin-Manuel Miranda's extraordinary masterpiece." Preach.
Fitness studios like Broadway Bodies and Row House in New York City have also tried to cater to all the new Revolutionary War-era obsessives out there; both places offer calorie-torching, Hamilton-inspired workout classes of their own.
Pushing the pedal to the musical's undeniably incredible score might be the most ingenious way to work up a sweat. You know singing during cardio burns extra calories, right?
