Jenny Craig may have been named "the best diet" from Consumer Reports, but a new ranking from U.S. News & World Report says otherwise. After a team of 22 independent experts evaluated 20 popular diets, they named Weight Watchers as Best Weight-Loss Diet and Best Commercial Diet Plan. The experts ranked all the diets they examined according to seven categories: short-term weight loss, long-term weight loss, ease of compliance, nutritional completeness, health risks, and ability to prevent or manage diabetes and heart disease.
Other notable winners included the DASH Diet, which won Best Diet Overall and Best Diabetes Diet, and the Ornish Diet, which won Best Heart-Healthy Diet. Although Jenny Craig didn't win this best-diet battle, it took a very close second, ranking No. 2 for Best Weight-Loss Diet and Best Commercial Diet Plan.
