Not Sharing is Caring

I don't really like to share--especially when it comes to my dinner. I seem to be alone in this: Most of my friends think meals should be served family-style, where each dish is passed around and sampled by everyone at the table. While I certainly don't begrudge giving my friends a taste of what I've ordered, this style of dining makes it hard to be healthy because there's no way to keep track of portions and calories. Plus it's easy to get pressured into splitting foods that go against your diet. So I usually announce that I'll be getting my own entrée--but that everyone else can feel free to share theirs. That way I can stick to my goals without trying to influence anyone else's decisions.
