Rev up your workout

Increase the calorie burn-and make any cardio workout more fun-with these easy kick-up-the-intensity ideas.

  • Push it with your playlist
Speed up every time you hear a song's chorus. -Gregroy Florez, Owner of First Fitness in Salt Lake City

  • Get more out of TV time
If you're watching a news channel, sprint for 30 seconds every time you hear the name President Bush. If you're watching a sitcom or talk show, take it up a notch during the commercials. -Mike Durner, A USA level 1 triathlon coach at Carmichael Training Systems in Colorado Springs, Colorado

  • Drop and give yourself 10
Every five minutes, stop (pause the machine, if you're on one) and do five push-ups and five crunches. -Michael J. Sokol, owner of One-On-One Fitness in Chicago

  • Go car spotting
Running or walking outside? When a red car passes you, sprint for 10 seconds; a black car, 20 seconds; and a white one, 30 seconds. Or make up your own system based on the models or colors of cars. -Jennifer Nicole Leee, creator of The DVD Series Fabulously Fit Moms

I agree that the sauna suit is not the best idea, especilly for those like me who are from hot weather climates. It could be dangerous.

Why in a sauna suit? all you'll do is lose more sweat. Its just water. You can dehydrate faster. You're not burning fat with using a sauna suit. besides, i really wouldn't call that the best workout. It really just excludes the upper body completely so there's a negative point already...
