The Secret To Staying Slim Without the Gym

If you're active and eat a healthy diet, it's possible to control your weight without doing regular workouts.

"Some people may scoff at the idea of being able to control your weight without doing regular workouts, but it is possible if you're active and eat a healthy diet like Angie does," says deputy editor Janet Lee, who oversees Shape's fitness coverage. Playing with your kids burns close to 300 calories an hour, but game time is only part of a mom's hectic day. Factor in cleaning (200 calories an hour), cooking (160 an hour), and carrying your children (350 an hour) and you could burn up to 1,000 calories a day!

To be honest when I saw the cover I didnt think twice about it. Then, I saw all these comments about her being too skinny/unhealthy or that she is perfect/healthy. We all should be accustomed to seeing these types of bodies. Im not saying thats a good thing but, we should. But, the most important thing is that IT'S HER BODY! If she's happy with it, why should we complain? If Angie can honestly say that is how she stays in shape, then more power to her. Because she is the one who has to look at herself in the mirror and live with those demons if not.

I think Angie Harmon looks fabulous. There are so many women that have the same body type as her, but the reason there are so many comments against her is because she is on a cover of a magazine. If I, not having a body like her, were to be up there on a magazine in a bikini, women would rant and rave anyway. When the time comes that women stop being jealous of each other and accept what assets they have is the day when the world will be a great place to be. I don't care if you are size 2 or size 22. Everyone has a certain beautiful trait about them. I bet there are things Angie would change about herself, and I bet if she saw photos of some of you women she might be jealous of say, your hair, or your eyes, or whatever! She is in shape to me...and the magazine name is Shape. She is a great role model for a healthy and glowing woman. Accept the beauty that you have and love other women that portray theirs.

Sorry ladies, but most of your comments are ridiculous. Especially regarding Angie's body! Before you start complaining about how 'Shape' is trying to send horrible messages to young girls and how celebs like Angie are anorexic - think about how this must feel on them??!!? They try their best and work hard to maintain their shapes. Everyone's body type is different. To Ivy - I am 145 lbs and am 5'7", not what most would say is an ideal weight but I'm in the higher range of a healthy BMI and I work out when I can (maybe 1-2 days a week)...Well I HAVE jutting clavicles and hip bones that I have no control over. I'm also top heavy - does that mean I've had a boob job?? No but it is so typical of American girls to cut up other girls just because they clearly have nothing better to do. So I applaud Shape for consistently putting a variety of healthy celebrities on their front cover and making each month a worth while read.

To these girls who keep harping on about air brushing, anorexic celebs etc - if it bugs you so much, why are you wasting your time on this site?? Leave the comments space for more important issues - like where that red bikini Angie Harmon was wearing!! (Thanks Shape staff for replying!!!!) :) :)
