Amanda Richards

Amanda Richards is a New York-based freelance writer who focuses on fashion and beauty. She also tackles modern culture topics with a clear-eyed, nonjudgmental viewpoint. Currently, she is a writer at Netflix.

After attending Cleveland State University, she spent several years working in Seoul, South Korea, where she served as a writer and editor of English study guides and taught English to students. She worked as a travel guide consultant and Seoul City correspondent for the travel website Gogobot, where she oversaw all the editorial content for the Seoul city guide. She covered local food, culture, and nightlife.

Returning to New York, she joined Bustle and served in several capacities including fashion and beauty features writer and beauty features editor. She also launched The Bodcast podcast for the company.

She joined InStyle as senior editor, where she managed the editorial calendar and edited beauty, shopping, and fashion content.

Later, Amanda worked as editorial director at Universal Standard, a site dedicated to size-inclusive brands in the fashion industry. There, she established content verticals, managed freelance contributors, and developed editorial content. During this period, she also launched the Big Calf podcast.

Recently, as partnerships editor at Meredith Corporation, Amanda wrote and edited beauty and fashion articles for nationally known brands, including People, Real Simple, Health, InStyle, Southern Living, and Shape.
