In April 2020, Barthole was inspired to found Sneakers for Heroes, a charity that provides free footwear to medical professionals fighting on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. The charity has donated over 10,000 pairs of sneakers to date and has been featured in Business Insider, Fashionista, and Footwear News.
