Wedding Inspiration from All Across the World Wide Web
When I started "planning" I knew I had a bunch of ideas. Most of my inspiration came from Bride magazines, SHAPEBride and the plethora of Wedding Blogs. Unlike with an actual magazine I was going insane bookmarking every page, photo and the like having to do with my wedding. A friend of mine turned me on to Pinterest. It did the bookmarking for me and stored them in designated folders. It keeps track of my many, many ideas and inspirations. It's because of Pinterest that I am able to write this post about my favorite things in an organized manner. I recommend you try it!
Favorite Thing 1.) Pinterest--follow me!
Favorite Thing 2.) These Christian Louboutin beauties.
I found these gorgeous shoes in a "Real Wedding," on the Style Me Pretty Blog and have been drooling over them ever since. I'm sure they would cost a pretty penny but, I have never wanted a pair of shoes so badly.
Favorite Thing 3.) Darcy's Idea--Martha Stewart Weddings. I find this Wedding Website more useful and less anxiety driven than The Knot. Don't get me wrong The Knot is a fantastic resource however, I much prefer it in print form. Darcy's Idea is a free daily e-newsletter with wedding inspriation for brides. I have bookmarked TONS of her ideas, especially many of the DIY ones.
Favorite Thing 4.) Etsy--Weddings.
I could get lost in the sea of crafty-ness all day. You can find some one-of-a-kind pieces here, as well as super unique center pieces, save the dates and/or favors. I will be using Etsy for all of the above and more!
Favorite Thing 5.) My venue.
Highlands Country Club was my No. 1 pick from the minute I got engaged. I had researched the world wide web for local, upstate New York locations and this venue quickly became my favorite. Working with them has been a dream so far and I'm sure (I hope) that my actual wedding day will go as smooth as silk.
Favorite Thing 6.) Brooke Burke's recount of her "Secret" Wedding on ModernMom.com.
The excerpt of The Art of a Good Marriage at the bottom of her blog is something I want printed on place cards at my wedding. I also loved how stealh she was about pulling off her own wedding. It should also be illegal to be as good looking as her and David are together.
Favorite Thing 7.) Lighted Vine Pumpkins from Pier 1 Imports.
I would love to place these at the entrance of our ceremony and reception.
