The Wedding Day Diet- "My Challenge" Update


If you follow me on Twitter, you already know how I've been doing with my Special K Challenge. Another blogger and I even took to the Twitterverse to encourage each other during our challenges! I completed my challenge last Friday, July 6th. Minus a cheat day on July 4th (it wasn't THAT bad, I only substituted ONE meal instead of two) I was very successful in my fight against flab! I can't tell you how much I lost since I don't own a scale, but I did slip into my jeans and shorts easier!

Throughout the Special K Challenge I felt lighter, since I wasn't munching on random snacks all day. I kind of liked having it all mapped out for me. It almost felt like wearing a uniform to work or school, it was just easy to know what I could and couldn't eat every day for two weeks. And to top it off, all of the snacks were yummy.

Last week, I tweeted to Special K that my favorite cereal was the Vanilla Almond, I think I have to go back on my word and say that the original Special K cereal with fresh bananas is my new favorite. I absolutely LOVE the Strawberry Protein Shakes and the snack bars.

The great thing about the challenge is that completing it gave me the confidence that I can do whatever I set my mind to. Even though it's only for two weeks, the challenge helped me realize that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is doable even in the midst of crazy work schedules and planning a wedding. It also gave me the drive to complete all of my wedding tasks (read: take no prisoners!) and charge forward with kicking butt and taking names.

Along with my fitness routine, I think I'll be set for my wedding day. Luckily I still have time to panic.
