We took a look and found out what she’s snacking on at home and on the go!
Eating right when you are constantly on the go can be challenging but Lisa Ling, who is currently the executive producer and host of Our America on OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network, has a few go-to tricks for staying healthy on set and on the road.
When travelling some of Ling’s best stay-healthy tricks can actually be found in her purse! To ward off sickness, and weight gain, the journalist always has a Ziploc of Emergen-C and Nectresse, an all-natural zero calorie sweetener on hand. Also in her purse, rather than energy bars or packaged foods, you’ll find a piece of fruit like an apple or peach or another baggie filled with cherries. Ling also travels with her own hot sauce which she describes as, “viciously hot,” that she actually gests from her hair salon in California. According to Ling it is just that hot and that good!
When she’s staying put, Ling eats a lot of salad and always has fruit available on set. She also loves to start the day with a bowl of Cornflakes with skim milk, and a touch of Nectresse to satisfy her sweet tooth. When shopping for herself, the television host focuses on preservative-free foods and frequently shops at Trader Joe’s.
