This month, fitness guru Jillian Michaels graces the cover of Shape for the fourth time, revealing every inch of her incredible physique in a way you’ve never seen before!
At 40 years old, the popular TV trainer is at her peak—stronger, wiser, and happier than ever. “When I think back on my 20s and 30s, I look better now than I ever have. Yes, I’m older but I’m also wiser and that’s a more intrinsic type of beauty,” shares Michaels.
She also shares her expert advice for toning every inch—from her arms, to her back, to her abs, to her legs and butt—whether it’s boxing, yoga, or good old-fashioned pull-ups.
Michaels makes a point to emphasize that a strong, fit body is about more than just looking good. “It’s important for women to have overall strength, because when you feel physically powerful, it transcends into every facet of your life,” she says. “My best reason for having strong arms is because I love to pick up my kids.”
She also has some pretty awesome advice about loving your body despite the imperfections: “Do I want to have a better butt? Sure, but I’m healthy and can wear my skinny jeans, and that’s good enough!”
