Top Chef Host Padma Lakshmi's Healthy Living Tips


Padma Lakshmi always has her fingers on the pulse of everything health-related. She's written two cookbooks, Easy Exotic and Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet. She also recently appeared in the Danskin campaign, "Move for Change," a movement dedicated to the health and wellness of women and children, which also supports the Endometriosis Foundation of America. And who could forget that she's also the award-winning host of the hit series, Top Chef?

We just had to get her top healthy living tips. Here are the three rules Lakshmi swears by to keep herself healthy and fit. 

1. Drink water. Lakshmi recommends drinking a full glass of water every half an hour. Not a fan of plain water? Check out these tips for making it taste better

2. Eat before you get hungry. "It's always better to eat before you're starving," she says. 

3. Fill up on healthy foods. "Always eat something that you can have a full plate of without feeling full." Lakshmi stocks her kitchen with healthy superfoods like kale, almonds, lentils, brown rice, and celery root. But there is one unhealthy indulgence she can't live without: "If someone made a jalapeño, salt-and-vinegar potato chip, that was a kettle chip, I would never be able to stop!" says Lakshmi. "I have a weakness for potato chips."
