Better-Than-Chocolate-Truffles Hot Chocolate


In the wake of Valentine’s Day, ditch the cheap chocolates (the office kitchen is a great place to leave the heart-shaped box) and whip up the Chocolate Monk to sip with your sweetie—or alone. This rich and creamy drink has all the flavors of fancy truffles—almonds, brandy, cherries—but the cocktail is portion-controlled: one and done. Sip slowly for pure satisfaction instead of repeat trips to the candy box.

Chocolate Monk
209 calories, 2g fat, 31g carbs, 3g protein, 2g fiber, 56mg sodium

4 ounces Silk Pure Almond® Dark Chocolate Almondmilk 
1 ounce herbal liqueur, such as Benedictine 
1/2 ounce brandy
1 teaspoon agave 
2 dashes orange bitters
2 fresh or frozen cherries, muddled (or mashed with the back of a spoon) 
Marshmallow, for garnish
Ground nutmeg, for garnish


Place all ingredients except garnishes in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a saucepan and heat until warm. Pour into a mug and garnish with marshmallow and nutmeg.
