My second half-marathon is tomorrow and I’m so ready this time around. Last race—the NYC Half-Marathon—I didn’t prepare at all after my treadmill injury (but managed to run the entire thing!), but this time around, I trained properly and feel that my body is ready to take it up a notch. Not only do I feel so ready, but the weather forecast says it’s going to be 80 degrees! That’s much better than running a marathon in the wintertime, but I also have to make sure I stay hydrated and stop at every water station so I don’t pass out. Plus, I’ve never ran in Brooklyn—where the race is located—so the course will be different, which is always fun when you do know where you’re going. (I wouldn’t mind a change of scenery these days. There’s only so many times you can run the loops of Central Park and not get bored.) I wonder what my next race will be—can I really do a full marathon? However, in the meantime, I’m going to keep tracking down these half-marathons and try to one in all the nearby states. Do you know a good race I should try next?
