Lecture on Veganism

I attended a lecture on campus by Carol J. Adams recently, titled “The Sexual Politics of Meat.” She discussed how both women and meat were marketed to men as objects for consumption and used to advertise just about anything, from an actual restaurant to a car. She showed us how closely tied feminism and veganism are. It was really eye-opening for me. I have made the decision to go vegetarian as an ethical and also feminist choice. I’m not ready quite yet to go fully vegan because of the issues I ran into last time, but I’ve been vegetarian for a week or so and it’s working out really well so far! And I can’t wait to try some of these quick vegetarian meals.

Do you eat meat or animal products? Why or why not?
