Meet The Team

Didi Gluck, executive beauty director, mother of two. If something takes more than two seconds to figure out or use, chances are you won’t find it in her beauty kit. Some of her recent faves include:

Goody’s Ouchless Flex headbands ($3-$5; in drugstores). In my 38 years I’ve never been able to tolerate the brain-squeeze of a headband for more than about 5 minutes. But the tips of this band bend out slightly so they don’t press too tightly. I’ve worn one for 48-hours straight now (yes, I even slept in it) and still feel comfortable!

Maybelline Lash Stilletto ($7; at drugstores). You’ve probably seen the ads featuring supermodel Julia Stegner and her miles-long lashes. I’m here to say that the lengthening brush and glop-free formula work wonders on mere mortals too. On a particularly busy day, all I do is slip in my headband and layer on a few coats of this mascara.

Ellen Miller, beauty editor, 27, the Carrie Bradshaw of the department. Like Carrie she writes a lot, and dates...frequently. Her must-have? Bright lipcolor. But never on a first date. "It can freak a guy out." The products she is loving now:

Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer ($70; I have super-fair skin that’s prone to redness and this ultra-creamy cover-up is my can’t-leave-home-without-it miracle product. It camouflages broken capillaries, dark circles, and (God forbid!) zits without caking. I keep a spare one in my purse so my complexion always looks flawless—even when it isn’t.

Smashbox DoubleTake Lip Color in Currant ($22; I’m addicted to the television show Mad Men. In fact, it’s 60s-era hair and makeup inspired my aforementioned retro red lipstick obsession. I’ve been searching for a year for an amazing berry shade with a matte finish—just like Joan Holloway’s. This travel-friendly, double-ended pencil from the fall collection fits the bill. It stays put for hours, doesn’t bleed, and looks amazing on anyone with pink undertones.

Carly Cardellino, senior associate beauty editor, 26, our girl about town. You'll find her shuttling between any number of activities every day (covering beauty events and fashion week, working out, going out, babysitting, get the picture). It's safe to say she knows everything about looking glam on the go. Her current beauty obsessions include:

Korres Wild Rose Long Lasting Foundation SPF 20 ($28; I’m always on the hunt for the perfect foundation—one that can withstand an entire day of running around the city, offers just enough coverage to conceal imperfections but doesn’t look too cakey, and also benefits my skin. And I think I’ve found the one: Korres Wild Rose Long Lasting Foundation SPF 20 not only stays on all day, but it gives my skin a dewy appearance (the formula is sheer enough that your freckles pop through, making it look like you have absolutely nothing on). Plus it contains titanium dioxide, a natural sunscreen. I mean, what more could a girl ask for?

I’m also loving Victoria’s Secret’s latest perfume: Parfums Intimes Cashmere ($55; I honestly don’t leave the house without spraying the nape of my neck and my pulse points with this vanilla jasmine blend; it’s sort of an addiction. And the best part? It’s light enough for day, sensual enough for night. Just be warned that people on the street will come up to you and ask you what you’re wearing. Trust me, I get it all of the time.
