Oxford Bound

I'll admit they're kind of funny-looking. But white oxfords add a
downtown vibe to even the simplest jeans-and-tee combo. Our ever-chic
Style Editor at Large, Kate Sebbah, had a pair custom-made in Italy two
years ago, and I'd begun to covet their low-key cool over time. So when
the trend hit our shores this year, I was won over by Camper's jazz
shoe-inspired version ( for similar styles). I
started wearing them on photo shoots and flights; they're easier to
move around in than ballet flats, and more grown up than my Converse
sneakers. In fact, I'm ready to branch out--to Cole Haan's Bespoke 1928
Oxford ($395; I'll never give up my stilettos
for nighttime fêtes, but these are my newest go-to for a day of
appointments or brunch with friends.

What do you think? Send them back to the menswear department or worth a walk around the block?
