accessories are as iconic and eternally covetable as the Chanel quilted
bag--and the house that Coco built will be the first to remind you of
that fact. Karl Lagerfeld and his team have created Mobile Art (chanel-mobileart.com),
an exhibition of 20 international contemporary artists' work inspired
by the emblematic bag. After debuting in Hong Kong and Tokyo earlier
this year, the event, which is housed in a futuristic pod designed by
architect Zaha Hadid, opens in New York's Central Park this week. And
unlike the original creations, you can enjoy the collection for free. Chanel sans price tag? I haven't been this excited since Pinkberry opened two blocks from my apartment.
Check it out before November 9 when Mobile Art moves on to London, Paris and Moscow.
