With the weather finally taking a turn in a sunnier direction this weekend, I've begun rummaging through my closets and drawers for pieces worth bringing into my style repertoire for spring. Yes, I'm 'shopping my closet.' (This term is everywhere right now, with the implication that before our economic woes, Americans never wore an article of clothing twice.) But I think it's something all of us do every season: decide what to keep and what to store.
Here's my must-wear list:
Blazers From sleek and shrunken to long and oversize, this item made a huge comeback this year. And I love all of its incarnations!
Oxford shoes They got me through the fall, when I was bored of ballet flats. Now I'll wear them sans socks for a geek-chic effect.
Barely-there dresses Skin is in this summer! Rock that bod in anything strapless, cutout, or curve-hugging.
Navy and white stripes The French nautical vibe is so easy to pull off, I can't help but give it a whirl every summer. Thank goodness for me it's perennially haute.
My white t-shirt collection This pile has found a special place in my bureau. Never has the tee been so versatile: I'll wear it with my coveted blazers for work, or to play down a sequin skirt for evening.
Anything 90s-inspired Think lots of denim, plaid, and punk details.
What's on your list? What favorite pieces are you bringing back into the rotation?
