In our gym there is a small dry erase board. My husband and I leave each other messages on it. One time I wrote, “I am losing weight.”
The next day, Kenny had written three words underneath it that read, “I found it.” I couldn’t help, but ‘laugh out loud.’
Seriously though, we have little things we write to motivate each other, and I recently started writing a word for the day.
ENDURANCE was the word today. Most certainly a good word for the gym!
To me, ENDURANCE is the ability to withstand pain, hardship, and struggles, with patience, persistence, and willingness to go beyond what’s imagined. That’s how I think of ENDURANCE. It empowers me to push myself to the edge and sometimes over the edge.
Hummm, maybe I think too much, but given that thought, it was Charles Dickens who once said, “The men who learn endurance, are they who call the whole world, brother.” I am sure he meant “men” as a generalization and included women.
Taking that message to heart, to me, that quotation simply means we endure by helping others to learn endurance.
What greater joy is there to help someone else with an armor of WITH-IT-NESS.
Just a thought……
I think I will introduce “ENDURANCE” to “ENTHUSIASM.” NOW….THERE’S A WORD FOR TOMORROW.
Hugs 2 U! Be blessed! And be positive!
