Fast Food, Not Fat Food

Sometimes when you’re on vacation, your only choice for some meals is fast food. Fortunately, for people who have adopted a healthier lifestyle, restaurants have begun to offer more waistline-friendly options. Here are some guidelines for when you’re faced with no other choice but the drive- through:

Bring on the breakfast: Order a wrap or an English muffin with eggs, which will have lots of protein.

Be smart about salads: Ask for a vinaigrette instead of a creamy dressing and make sure you get one that isn’t topped with fried meat, lots of cheese, or bacon.

Don’t drink your calories: A large (32 ounce) soda will set you back 310 calories and has 86 grams of carbohydrates from sugar. That’s more calories than a regular McDonald's cheeseburger. Instead, order milk, juice, iced tea, or a bottle of water.
