Saying No to Donuts


This morning I went to Dunkin Donuts with two co-workers to get coffee. They both order breakfast along with their morning cup of Joe—one of them chose a breakfast burrito and the other decided on a 25-pack of Munchkins. My order? A medium iced coffee with skim milk and Splenda.

Thankfully, I had eaten a healthy breakfast at home—three egg whites scrambled with veggies and a whole wheat bagel thin—so I wasn’t tempted to follow suit and order something sweet or savory. At this juncture in my weight loss journey, I’ve learned that it’s important to stick to your goals, no matter what the people you are with are doing. This was extremely difficult for me in the beginning, but it’s gotten easier over time.
