My husband, James, has been so supportive of my health and weight-loss goals by offering encouragement, helping with meal plans, and watching James Wilson when I need to work out. But this weekend, I got to be the cheerleader. He’s always been an athletic guy—when we first met he was a pretty competitive mountain bike rider and snowboarder. But much like me, he’s slacked off over the last few years. So when I started my new exercise regimen, James stepped up his workouts, and now he’s in amazing shape. And on Saturday he took part in a mountain bike race—and placed in the top 10! I was so proud of him. Not only is he making his own fitness a priority, he’s helping me show our son what being active is all about.
