I’m starting work on Shape’s annual Snack Awards, and right now I’m staring at hundreds of email submissions of the newest snacks from the past year. This is one of my favorite projects, and since I’ve been working at Shape I’ve gotten to help out with this. But now that I’m an assistant editor I’ve taken on even more responsibility, and I’m looking forward to digging through all the submissions! After narrowing down the very best snacks (they have to fit our healthy guidelines), our staff, experts, and some readers judge and rate them all. This is a big process—believe it or not, every year hundreds of new items hit the market; whether their nutritional information has been tweaked and made healthier or it’s a new creation, we have to test everything.
In July, you’ll find out our top picks. But for now, I have to get started. Even though these are the “healthy” snacks, how will I resist indulging throughout the day?
