How to Exercise with Resistance Bands

I have a resistance band in my apartment and, spending my days editing all sorts of fitness articles, you’d think I’d be a pro at exercising at home. But truth be told, I never know what to do with the allegedly versatile piece of equipment. Sometimes, reading about (and even writing about) something isn’t enough to really know what to do. That’s why I love this short two-minute video on how to use a resistance band.

Fitness expert Andrea Metcalf takes you through three resistance band exercises to work your lower body. She starts off with the outside leg kick, which is great for your inner and outer thighs and butt. Next, she demos the kick back, which also engages the glutes as well as the and hamstrings. My favorite part is that Metcalf shows you variations that also work your arms and core at the same time! Lastly, Metcalf demonstrates a deceptively challenging move that requires balance, arm, and leg strength. Watch the video below and see if you can master Metcalf’s last move and add all three resistance band exercises to your lower body workout routine.
