Last night, "Boston Rob" was crowned the winner of CBS Survivor: Redemption Island. While Rob Mariano -- and all other Survivor winners -- are probably best known for their game-playing skills on the reality show, we know them for something else: their fitness! After all, it's darn near impossible to win the show without being fit, both physically and mentally. Read on for three fitness lessons you can learn from this Survivor winner!
3 Fitness Lessons Learned From the Survivor Winner
1. It's all about endurance. Both on Survivor and in the gym, the more fit your body is, the better off you are. Get optimally fit by doing cardio, lifting weights and stretching at least a few times a week!
2. Keep your eye on the prize. It's all about focus. When on Survivor, contestants are constantly thinking of winning and playing the game the best way so that they can. When working out, do the same by focusing on your goal and imagining yourself reaching your fitness goals. This type of focus keeps motivation high!
3. Make friends. No one ever won Survivor as a complete loner. And while you can get fit on your own, it's so much more fun to do it with others! Whether it's chatting up a new friend in that group exercise class or inviting a bud to go for a jog with you, friends can give you extra support to help you reach your fitness goals!
