Here's How Jennifer Lopez Crushes a Workout Before One of Her Concerts
Alex Rodriguez shared a video of him and J. Lo breaking a sweat before the singer's show.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have proven time and time again why you should totally work out with your S.O. In addition to motivating each other at the gym, the two inspire one another to try new things.
In a new YouTube video, A-Rod shared how he always used to work out in the mornings prior to a baseball game back when he still played for the New York Yankees.
"On game day, I like to wake up, lift weights, activate," he said. "It gets me in an aggressive mindset to go crush it at night. But it starts in the morning."
Now he's encouraged his fiancé to do the same: "Jennifer has incorporated workouts [and] activation to prep for a two-and-a-half-hour show in front of 25,000 people," he said.
The video shows the couple working out at the Dallas Cowboys' fitness center. Lopez is seen doing barbell chest presses, biceps curls, lat pull-downs, crunches with a weighted plate, and weighted sled pushes. (See: The Surprising Reason J.Lo Added Weight Training to Her Workout Routine)
That, on top of a two-and-a-half-hour, cardio-dance performance within a 24-hour period, might seem like a lot. But Lopez says exercise helps her feel more energized before her concerts. (P.S. You need to see this picture of J. Lo flexing her biceps.)
"I like working out on show days," she says in the video. "It's like my workday. It opens up my body for the nighttime, so I don't just go out there stiff. It makes me feel more confident. I feel strong and ready."
Don't worry, though: On the days she doesn't perform, Lopez takes it easy. "When I don't have a show, I don't do anything. I just rest," she said. (Here's how to properly rest from your workout.)
