She says it changed her body completely.

Meghan Markle's Go-To Workout Is Really Intense

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement, the world has been dying to know anything and everything about the royal-bride-to-be. And naturally, we're most interested in her workout.

In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Markle shared her love for the Megaformer-a machine created by workout guru Sebastien Lagree, founder of the Lagree Method. "[It] is hands-down the best thing you could do for your body," Markle said. "Your body changes immediately. Give it two classes, and you will see a difference."

She's right: Lagree is hard as hell. The method is similar to Pilates in that it's a low-impact, core-carving workout that uses a Megaformer-but you'll really, really sweat. The workout is about an hour long with no rests, intended to burn the most calories in the least time while developing overall muscle tone, strength, balance, and flexibility. Expect to hold poses until your muscles quiver. (See: I Exercised With My Wife for a Month...and Only Collapsed Twice)

"I'm a huge advocate for high-intensity, short-duration workouts," Lagree told us. He estimates that an average-size woman can burn more than 700 calories in a 50-minute class.

While the Megaformer might look a lot like a traditional Pilates reformer (an elevated gliding platform with lots of moving parts and springs), it's a different beast. "The carriage in the middle is the only similarity between the two machines," Lagree says. He explains that the carriage on the Megaformer is much wider than that of a traditional reformer and has lines and numbers to help you align your body. The machine also has several handles on the front and back to help you flow through exercises faster and more easily. You're also able to use the handles to perform more demanding exercises on an incline. Lastly, the machine's eight weighted springs add resistance that works your muscles to the point of exhaustion. A Pilates reformer has only four or five springs.

Most classes will set you back $40-but knowing that the Megaformer is Markle-approved, we think it's worth giving it a try. If not, there's always these Lagree at-home Lagree exercises inspired by the Megaformer's big sister, the Supra.
