1-on-1 with Andi Dorfman
By now, you've seen America's most popular couple: The Bachelorette's Andi Dorfman and her new fiancé Josh Murray. The gorgeous, career-driven attorney traveled the world to eventually fall in love with Murray, after living practically down the street from him in Atlanta! We went one-on-one with the reality star to talk fitness, food, and finally finding love. Here's what she had to say.
Shape: What are you looking forward to most now that the show is over?
Andi Dorfman [AD]: Unpacking my suitcases! Also, starting a new chapter of my life with Josh and proving to people that you can find love anywhere-even on a television show.
Shape: What was the best part about being on the Bachelorette?
AD: Obviously getting to date some incredible guys, meet my fiancé, and see the world. But having amazing clothes ranks up there too!
Shape: And the hardest part?
AD: The travel schedule was grueling. I averaged about four hours of sleep a night and had to do my best to look good each day. I learned to love plane rides because that's where I'd rack up hours of sleep.
Shape: What is your typical workout regime?
AD: I'm not one of those people who love to work out, but I love the results and the high after a killer workout. I'm a grind type of girl because I'm not patient enough for a class. I get in a gym, put on my headphones and sweat it out by running, doing the stair master, abs, and free weights. I love doing circuit training.
Shape: How do you try to stay active while being so busy?
AD: I'll do calf raises when I brush my teeth, I always take the stairs, and do squats on commercial breaks if I'm watching TV. It's so easy and it has become my little habit.
Shape: Tell us what is on a typical food menu for you.
AD: My diet is pretty clean. I am not a morning person so I force myself to eat breakfast. I love a bowl of fruit with granola sprinkled on top and a splash of soymilk. I eat a lot of lean meats like turkey and chicken. I've cut out carbs from dinner and substitute with different veggies and I've realized I don't miss them at all.
Shape: Guilty pleasures?
AD: I am an eater, no doubt about it. I love sushi, steak, pizza, chocolate cake, pretzels-even though they are basically empty carbs-you name it. I also love red wine, which I refuse to give up. I believe in moderation though. I'm not one to deprive myself of a great meal, especially when traveling and exploring new cultures and cuisines.
Shape: Who is your celebrity body crush?
AD: Jessica Biel. She is that perfect mix of athletic meets feminine with an attainable body!
Shape: Speaking of crushes…Any advice to our single readers on finding everlasting love?
AD: I think long lasting love happens when you realize you are not perfect and neither is anyone else. You've got to know that everyone has flaws whether it's physically, emotionally or mentally and if you can look past those flaws and still be in love, that's a recipe for love.
