"I'm now 43...My stomach has stretched in and out and in and out and in and out four times. I've breastfed four children…You just have to embrace it, go with it, just roll with it," shares the supermodel and our December cover star
Heidi Klum has some serious energy. The former Victoria's Secret angel is the mother of four children under age 13, a judge on America's Got Talent, the executive producer and host of Project Runway, and a lingerie designer with a new line of body-loving swimwear (which she's rocking on our cover) Oh, and she also has a 30-year-old art-dealer boyfriend that she's crazy about. Here, Heidi shares how she stays fit, happy, and healthy.
On finding time for working out: "I try to be active as much as possible. I don’t have time for workouts every day. Being the mother of four kids is a workout in itself! Balancing my work and their schedules makes it hard to find time for a traditional exercise routine, so we try to do as many outdoor activities as a family as possible. We love to go on bike rides, take our "dogs hiking, or jump on the trampoline. That's the best way to stay fit and healthy—do things that don’t feel like work." (Try our 30-Day Outdoor Circuit Training Challenge to amp up your adventure game.)
Why she loves her shape: "I love my shape because it's mine. At the end of the day, it's not what anyone else thinks about my body but how I feel about myself. I'm working it and owning it!" (Next up: Your Fave Fitness Celebs Get Real About Why They Love Their Bodies)
Her advice for surviving swimsuit shopping: "The perfect swimsuit is out there—you just have to find it. I've been modeling swimsuits and lingerie for my entire career, which is now more than 22 years, and it's something that I truly know and love. I've tried on everything you can imagine, and I've seen what works well in real life. It's all about finding a swimsuit in a shape and fit you like and feel happy in."
Her motivation tip: "Whenever I need motivation, I think of the big picture. I remind myself that I'm staying active and eating right to live a better and healthier life. I want to be as healthy as possible for myself and my family."
