The Secret to Perez Hilton's Dramatic Weight Loss
He's a Hollywood staple, endless source of gossip, and revered personality. But what many people don't know about the self-proclaimed "Queen of all Media" Perez Hilton is that he's been hard at work trying to shed his chubby image for the last three years. Newly slimmed down, single, and ready to mingle, Hilton is spilling all his weight-loss secrets to SHAPE.
We sat down with the 33-year old, who has partnered with FitOrbit, a website that makes personal trainers and nutritionists affordable and accessible, to find out how he keeps the weight off, what it's like losing weight in the public eye, and why he looks up to David Beckham.
SHAPE: Tell us about your weight-loss struggles?
PEREZ HILTON (PH): Like so many people, I have struggled with my weight throughout my entire life. Thankfully though, at the beginning of 2008, I made a commitment to my health and I have stuck to it. Nearly four years later and I am in the best shape of my life! I've lost more than 70 pounds and I've worked for it. I've done it the old-fashioned way, slow and steady, by eating healthily and exercising regularly. And I feel wonderful!
SHAPE: How much did you weigh at your heaviest and how much do you weigh now?
PH: At my heaviest, I weighed a lot. And I don't know how much I weigh now. Those kinds of numbers don't matter to me. I don't weigh myself on a scale. What matters to me is how I look naked and how I feel. I'm looking better and better naked every day, and I feel better and better every day.

SHAPE: Tell us about your diet and workout regimen.
PH: It's very intense. I work out seven days a week. I vary what I do. I work out in the gym Monday through Thursday, and I do pilates Friday and Saturday. I do yoga on Sundays. (Watch Kate Beckinsale's favorite yoga combo to tone your butt and legs.) And I also try to hike a couple times a week and ride my bicycle on weekends. And I eat a very clean diet. I am fortunate enough to get my meals delivered, which makes a huge difference for me. If I don't have to think about it, and I know that everything I'm putting into my body is good for it and the proper portions and the right balances of food, it makes it so simple. And I'm not tempted to cheat.
But, you don't need to get your meals delivered to get in shape and eat a healthy diet. You can be your own meal delivery program. I tell people to buy a healthy cookbook and make their meals twice a week ahead of time for the entire week. You can do it!

SHAPE: Now that you've lost the weight, how do you plan to keep it off?
PH: I don't just plan to keep the weight off. I plan to continue improving. And that is by continuing to make the commitment to myself and to my health, by changing things up and continuing to put in the effort.
SHAPE: You are famous for dishing on celebs so tell me-which celebs are your 'fitness' idols? Is there anyone you've looked up to during your weight-loss journey?
PH: My fitness idols are definitely David Beckham and Zac Efron. My goal is to be super fit! I don't want to be big or bulky or "muscley." I want to be lean, defined, athletic, and super fit.
SHAPE: Did any of your "famous friends" support you throughout your journey and help you reach your goals?
PH: All of my friends and family have supported me throughout my journey, and what's especially rewarding is that I've been able to inspire a lot of those people in my life, including strangers!
SHAPE: Now that you're already the "Queen of all Media," what's up next for you?
PH: I am busier than ever with my five websites: PerezHilton.com, CocoPerez.com, Perezitos.com, TeddyHilton.com, and my health and wellness website FitPerez.com. Plus, I have my two radio shows, Radio Perez and the Fab Thirty. I am also working a lot in the music space with artists, and I've also started my own TV production company. I am continuing to work hard, expand, try new things, and have fun!
